The task is listing the first 10 products that we can sell to a customer. The taxonomy of the five approaches potentially provides a diagnostic tool for analyzing and evaluating an organization's experience with SISP.A few days ago I posted about two phase tests, I have been thinking about this lately, and decided that I have a good example for this, which also demonstrate some important design decisions. The results show that the Organizational Approach appears to be most effective. Each approach has different characteristics and, therefore, a different likelihood of success. By adopting this broader perspective, the investigation reveals companies were using five different SISP approaches: Business-Led, Method-Driven, Administrative, Technological, and Organizational. This study examines SISP experience in 27 companies and, unusually, relies on interviews not only with IS managers but also with general managers and line managers. However, there have been very few field investigations of these phenomena. The processes of planning and the implementation of plans are equally important. SISP cannot be understood by considering formal methods alone. Accordingly, researchers have investigated SISP practice and proposed both formal methods and principles of good practice. Strategic information systems planning (SISP) remains a top concern of many organizations. General conditions that appear necessary for sustainable competitive advantage are developed. This can be attributed in part to the absence of attention paid to unsuccessful ventures in the use of information technology for competitive advantage.Although this paper relies on the same anecdotes, it augments them with data on a few unsuccessful attempts to exploit information technology and with economic theory where appropriate. Much of this has been supported by a very limited set of prominent and well publicized success stories, principally involving marketing and distribution, financial services, and the airlines.Unfortunately, there has been little attempt at an analysis that abstracts from these experiences to determine factors that determine strategic success. ![]() This belief is reflected in a host of publications, from the popular press to respected journals. There has been an increase in the attention paid to the strategic potential of information systems and a new willingness to accept the possibility that information systems can be the source of strategic gains. Lastly, we will conclude this paper by discussing the possibility of integrating the culture in the information system planning for system development as many organizations has embraced internationalization. Next, we will discuss the factors that have been found to be critically importance in the information system planning for system development. The third section will discuss on the benefits of IS planning. Then, the theory of information system planning will be introduced. First section will discuss on the various definition of information system planning by few scholars. These factors include skills, cooperation from other departments, financial investment evaluation, human resources, facilities, IT infrasturucture, IT organzitional structure, top management support and management commitment. As a result from the above, we propose this paper to discuss the critical success factors that have been found in the literature to be significantly related to the system development in an organization. In achieving this, organizations should clearly understand the factors that critically importance in the system development for their organizations. ![]() Besides assisting the organization to achieve its objective, information system planning has been used by organization to identify its higher payback towards implementing it. Information system planning has been one of the critical issues in an organization.
